Terms of Service

§ 1 Scope

These Terms of Service apply to the use of the online game "Backgammon Online" at gammon.zietz.de (hereinafter "Service"), operated by Zietz IT-Service (hereinafter "Provider").

§ 2 Service Description

The Service includes:

  • Free Backgammon games against the computer (3 difficulty levels)
  • Local two-player games on one device
  • Online multiplayer with player lobby and matchmaking
  • Text chat and voice chat during games
  • ELO rating and leaderboard
  • Game statistics and game history

The Service is free of charge and ad-free.

§ 3 Registration & User Account

  1. Registration is handled centrally through the Games portal (games.zietz.de) and is voluntary.
  2. No registration is required for games against the computer and local games.
  3. A registered user account is required for online multiplayer.
  4. You are obliged to provide truthful information.
  5. Your login credentials must be kept confidential.
  6. You are liable for all activities under your account.

§ 4 Code of Conduct

The following is prohibited when using the Service:

  • Insulting, discriminating against or harassing other users (in chat or voice chat)
  • Using cheats, bots or other unfair tools
  • Manipulating gameplay or the leaderboard
  • Multiple accounts to circumvent bans
  • Deliberately leaving games to manipulate ELO ratings
  • Distributing illegal content

§ 5 Liability

  1. The Provider is not liable for damages arising from the use of the Service, unless caused by intent or gross negligence.
  2. Availability of the Service is not guaranteed. Maintenance work and technical disruptions are possible.
  3. No liability is assumed for data loss (game saves, statistics).

§ 6 Changes to Terms

The Provider reserves the right to change these Terms at any time. Registered users will be informed of significant changes. Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

§ 7 Termination & Suspension

  1. You can delete your account at any time through the Games portal.
  2. The Provider may suspend or delete your account in case of violation of these Terms.
  3. In case of serious violations (particularly against § 4), suspension will occur without prior warning.

§ 8 Final Provisions

  1. The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies.
  2. The place of jurisdiction is, as far as legally permissible, the registered office of the Provider.
  3. Should individual provisions be ineffective, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
